15 Bible Verses about the Mind

« Ephesians 5:15-16 »
New Internation VersionKing James Version
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper. He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
