| I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” | The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. |
| Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. | Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. |

| Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |
| So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. | Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. |
| Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. | This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
| Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. |
| The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. | The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. |
| The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. | Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. |
| A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. | A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. |

| As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. | Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. |
| What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? | What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? |
| Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. | Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. |

| God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. | God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. |

| We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. | And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. |
| For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. | For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. |
