| He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us. | All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us. |

| Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. | The Lord is good, an unfailing refuge in a time of distress. He takes care of those who place their trust in him. |
| Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him. | As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. |
