But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.And yet he is aware of everywhere I go; if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold. My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established; I have followed his way and never turned aside.
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
He will render to each one according to his works.For God will repay everyone in accordance with what his deeds deserve.
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit.
