- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
- “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight,
and the holy of Yahweh honorable,
and honor it,
not doing your own ways,
nor finding your own pleasure,
nor speaking your own words,
then you will delight yourself in Yahweh,
and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth,
and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father;”
for Yahweh’s mouth has spoken it. - Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
- He who walks blamelessly walks surely,
but he who perverts his ways will be found out. - A good name is more desirable than great riches,
and loving favor is better than silver and gold. - For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
May Yahweh our God be with us as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us or forsake us. Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Yes, these may forget,
yet I will not forget you!
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Your walls are continually before me.Next verse! With image
