- It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
- If you refrain from trampling the sabbath,
from pursuing your own interests on my holy day;
if you call the sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - Let marriage be held in honor by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever follows perverse ways will be found out. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
