| Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep Yahweh’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good? | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? |
| You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for all time. | So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, so that it may go well for you and for your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time. |
| It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. | Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth. |
| A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. | I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. |

| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? | Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? | The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me? |
| Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword. | Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. |
| For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. | Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all. |
| When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. | If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me. |
| These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. | These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. |
| Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. | Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning, For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. |
