| Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. | And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. |

| I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; moreover, that every person who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—this is the gift of God. | I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. | And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. | And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. |

| Turn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. | Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. |
| In addition to all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
