If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that… 1 John 4:20

If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 1 John 4:20	If someone says, “I love God,” and yet he hates his brother or sister, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother and sister whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. love God family

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. Galatians 1:10	For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. obedience reward relationships
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. Luke 11:13	So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? Spirit prayer family
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 1 John 5:14	This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. trust prayer listening
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 1 John 4:11	Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. love God community
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:15	And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. trust prayer listening
So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. 1 John 2:24	As for you, see that what you heard from the beginning remains in you. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. John 13:14	So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. humility serving Jesus
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1	If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. love speaking angels
But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. Leviticus 5:17	Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. sin law punishment
God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:17	If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. church community holiness
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32	So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” truth Word of God following
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:13	And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. seeking heart soul
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Mark 8:36	For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? greed materialism life
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Matthew 10:39	The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it. eternal life suffering life
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. John 15:10	If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. law love Jesus
You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. Matthew 5:13	You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
