- For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but deceit in it crushes the spirit. - Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away,
but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. - Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
- I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
- But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
- There is a way which seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death. - Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no kind of work. It is a Sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwellings.
- Pray like this:
‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
Let your Kingdom come.
Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ - Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf.
- For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past,
like a watch in the night. - For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
- The heart is deceitful above all things
and it is exceedingly corrupt.
Who can know it?
“I, Yahweh, search the mind.
I try the heart,
even to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his doings.” - Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that Yahweh himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else.
- For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.
- Yahweh’s name is a strong tower:
the righteous run to him, and are safe. - The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.
- Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
- I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
- Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
- A fool vents all of his anger,
but a wise man brings himself under control. - In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
- For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
- “If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.”
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”Next verse! With image
