| Anyone who has received my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. | No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. | Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. |
| You did not choose me. Rather, I chose you. And I appointed you to go out and bear fruit, fruit that will remain, so that the Father may give you whatever you ask him in my name. | You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. |
| If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. |
| When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. | When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, namely, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, He will testify about Me. |
| Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I depart. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, whereas if I go, I will send him to you. | But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. |
| And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment. |
| Until now, in my name, you have not asked for anything. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. | Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. |
| I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am leaving the world and returning to the Father. | I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father. |
| I have told you this so that in me you may be in peace. In the world you will endure suffering. But take courage! I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. |
| And eternal life is this: to know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent, Jesus Christ. | And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. |
| I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to protect them from the evil one. | I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one. |
| Father, allow those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may behold my glory, which you have bestowed on me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. |
