Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.This is the message that we have heard from him and that we declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him.
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Then Jesus said to him, “You have come to believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.”
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.God’s love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.This is how we know what love is: he laid down his life for us, and we in turn must be prepared to lay down our lives for our brethren.
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.Dear children, you are from God and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.And now, dear children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may attain eternal life.
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus answered them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.I have made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.”
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him?
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf.
