John (4/4)

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.
But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
