| For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ | For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’ |
| The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. | The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. |
| The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. | The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. |

| The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. | For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears attend to their prayer, But the face of the Lord is against evildoers. |
| You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. | Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. |
| For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. | For we have become partakers of Christ if we keep the beginning of our commitment firm until the end. |

| Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. | Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. |
| Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other. | So that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company. |
| And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” | Then he said to them, “Go, eat the festival foods, drink the sweet drinks, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. | If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. | And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. |
| The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. | To do righteousness and justice Is preferred by the Lord more than sacrifice. |
| As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. | But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. |
| If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. | For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. |
| Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.” | Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all guilt And receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips.” |
| Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. | Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth. |
| The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. | The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. |
| All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. | They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. |
| Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. | And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. |
| I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me. | My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed. |
| In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. | From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and put me in an open space. |
