Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins. | Indeed, there is not a righteous person on earth who always does good and does not ever sin. |
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. | Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things. |
But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. | But if the wicked person turns from all his sins which he has committed and keeps all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall certainly live; he shall not die. |
For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. | For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. |
I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me. | Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. |
But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” | But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written: “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” |
The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless. | The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver, The heart of the wicked is worth little. |
In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents. | In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. |
He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. | Guarding the paths of justice, And He watches over the way of His godly ones. |
Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good. | So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. |
This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” | For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.” |
Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. | Behold, as for the impudent one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous one will live by his faith. |
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. | Let Your favor, Lord, be upon us, Just as we have waited for You. |
Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. | Then you will discern righteousness, justice, And integrity, and every good path. |
For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours. | For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or like a watch in the night. |
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. | For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. |
Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. | Just as you do not know the path of the wind, and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes everything. |
Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.” | And the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.” |
Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. | Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. |

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. | My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His rebuke, For whom the Lord loves He disciplines, Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights. |
I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it. | Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I have given everything to you, as I gave the green plant. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. |
Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. | The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. |
Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. | For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. |
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. | For just as we have many parts in one body and all the body’s parts do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another. |
