Life with God (2/4)

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
