- In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. - Therefore, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For nothing will be impossible for God.
- He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life. - Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself;
thus my lips will speak your praise.
I will bless you all my life;
with uplifted hands I will call on your name. - Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
- Though he was in the form of God,
he did not regard equality with God
as something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
Being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient to death,
even death on a cross. - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
- For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
- But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
- Guard your heart with all possible vigilance,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life. - For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
- For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
- Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- The reward of humility and fear of the Lord
is wealth, honor, and life.
No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends.A fool spurns his father’s correction,
but whoever heeds admonition is prudent. And where a single man can be overcome,
two together will be able to resist.
