Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.”’ | Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.’ |
Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies’ sake. | Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. |
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. | When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. |
Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. | Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. |
The vine has dried up, And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate tree, The palm tree also, And the apple tree— All the trees of the field are withered; Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. | The vine is dried up and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree— all the trees of the field—are dried up. Surely the people’s joy is withered away. |
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. | Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. |
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. | After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. |
‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. | Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. |
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. | These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. |
I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. | I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. |
So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” | He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ |
If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you. | If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you. |
I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah | I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. |
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. | He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. |
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. | Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. |
Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ | Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ |
Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. | Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. |
The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. | The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. |
Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. | Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. |
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? | He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? |
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. | Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. |
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” | Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” |
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. | Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. |

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. | Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. |
