| Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. | The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. | Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” | And He said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.” |
| Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ | And heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ |
| However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. | Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. |

| He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” | But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it.” |
| There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. | But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. |
| What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. | Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. |
