Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.

Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.Give, and it will be given to you. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.
No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it.For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it.
And said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.”And said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.”
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’Cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops.

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted.
