- Therefore, you must also be prepared, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
- A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life;
a poor man never has to worry about such threats. - However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
- However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
- For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.

Christ Jesus, himself a man. - What is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him? - Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.
- For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.
- Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance.
- The wicked man borrows but neglects to repay,
whereas the righteous man is generous in giving. - There is a way that seems right to a man,
but the end of it leads to death. - All day long the godless man continues to covet,
whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly. - How can a young man lead a spotless life?
By living according to your word. - What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life?
- But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.
- Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of your opportunity. Let your speech always be gracious and seasoned with wisdom, so that you will know how to respond properly to all.
- A fool gives free rein to his anger,
but a wise man bides his time and calms it. - Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
- He was despised and shunned by others,
a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering.
We loathed him and regarded him as of no account,
as one from whom men avert their gaze. - If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married.
- I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.
