Matthew 11:25 (2/5)

  • It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant.
  • Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
  • Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.”
  • All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
  • Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
  • A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
  • But he who endures to the end will be saved.
  • If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  • Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
  • Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
  • Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
  • His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
  • As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
  • He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.”
  • Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
  • The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.”
  • Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
  • Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
  • But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
  • She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.
  • Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child,
and shall give birth to a son.
They shall call his name Immanuel,”
which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”
