- For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
- He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
- And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.
- Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
- To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
- Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
- For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’Next verse! With image
