Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. | Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” |
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. | When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. |

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. | However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. |
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. | She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. |
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. | My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. |
And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. | The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. |
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. | Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” |
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. | He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. |

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. | May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. |
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. | Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” |
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. | My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. |
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. | On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” |
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. | Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” |
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus. | May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. |
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. | Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” |
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. | But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. |
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. | And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. |
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. | For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. |
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. | For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. |
But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. | On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” |
He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. | Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. |
For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. | You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. |
