| Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. | Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. |
| Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. | Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. |
| Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. | Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
| The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. | The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. |
