Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world. | Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. | And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. |

All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being. | All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. |
I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father. | I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. |
Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me will live because of me. | As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. |
If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true. | If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. |
Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” | Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. |
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. | Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. |
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. | A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. |
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul. | Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. |
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath. | He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. |
If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. | If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
Very truly, I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. |
God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
Now John wore clothing of camel's hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. | And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. |
But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God. | But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. |
Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor. | If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. |
In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. | Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. |
Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. |
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. | This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. | If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. |
How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? | But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? |
Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. | For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. |
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.” | Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. |
