- The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love. - For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
- But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
- But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
- Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
