For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called “The Holy Way”. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools shall not go there.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.

Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.
