People (3/4)

  • One who walks with wise people will be wise,
    But a companion of fools will suffer harm.
  • For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.
  • So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
  • See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people.
  • Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
  • And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
  • Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
  • And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you.
  • You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.
  • In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
  • A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
    But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward.
  • Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine.
  • All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up.
  • Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife,
    But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.
  • I will give thanks to You, Lord, among the peoples,
    And I will sing praises to You among the nations.
  • The vine has dried up
    And the fig tree has withered;
    The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree,
    All the trees of the field have dried up.
    Indeed, joy has dried up
    From the sons of mankind.
  • He was despised and abandoned by men,
    A man of great pain and familiar with sickness;
    And like one from whom people hide their faces,
    He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.
  • How can a young man keep his way pure?
    By keeping it according to Your word.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
  • Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
    Make His deeds known among the peoples.
  • In God, whose word I praise,
    In God I have put my trust;
    I shall not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?
  • For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God.
  • Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
  • Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
  • You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

And let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
