- It is better to take refuge in Yahweh,
than to put confidence in man. - In God, I praise his word.
In God, I put my trust.
I will not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
- But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- A man’s gift makes room for him,
and brings him before great men. - You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
- For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.
- Wake up righteously and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.
- So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
- He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up. When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water? Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. - Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity,
and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage?
He doesn’t retain his anger forever,
because he delights in loving kindness. - In that day you will say, “Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Declare his doings among the peoples! Proclaim that his name is exalted!”
- A highway will be there, a road,
and it will be called “The Holy Way”.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
but it will be for those who walk in the Way.
Wicked fools shall not go there. - For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
- Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
- The integrity of the upright shall guide them,
but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them. - He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
- If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
- See how good and how pleasant it is
for brothers to live together in unity! - Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you.
Bind them around your neck.
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor,
and good understanding in the sight of God and man. - See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
- Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh,
but those who do the truth are his delight.
