Proverbs 3:5 (5/6)

It is a trap for a person to say carelessly, “It is holy!” And after the vows to make inquiry. It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
Every person’s way is right in his own eyes, But the Lord examines the hearts.Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
To do righteousness and justice Is preferred by the Lord more than sacrifice. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
One who pursues righteousness and loyalty Finds life, righteousness, and honor. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
All day long he is craving, While the righteous gives and does not hold back.He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
A good name is to be more desired than great wealth; Favor is better than silver and gold.A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor, and life.By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it.Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; Stop dwelling on it.Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
My son, if your heart is wise, My own heart also will be glad.My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
Know that wisdom is the same for your soul; If you find it, then there will be a future, And your hope will not be cut off.So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Do not abandon your friend or your father’s friend, And do not go to your brother’s house on the day of your disaster; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away.Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
As iron sharpens iron, So one person sharpens another.Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person. As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, Even his prayer is an abomination. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion. He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
A fool always loses his temper, But a wise person holds it back.A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
A person’s pride will bring him low, But a humble spirit will obtain honor.A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
The fear of man brings a snare, But one who trusts in the Lord will be protected. The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion.Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me.
