Psalm 46 (5/9)

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.
I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.
The Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly.
The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
