Say (2/4)

But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. As for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.
Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’?Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker, or to the pot that is displeased with the potter. Does the clay say to the one who molds it, “What are you doing? Your work makes no sense.”
Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be accomplished for him.
What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”For I, the Lord, am your God and I grasp your right hand. It is I who say to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and utter all kinds of calumnies against you for my sake.
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Jesus replied, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted.
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.So if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out there. If they say, ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For just as lightning comes from the east and is visible even in the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”The Lord is my portion, I say to myself; therefore, I will place my hope in him.
It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,” and to reflect only after making vows.It is rash to pledge a sacred gift, or to make a vow and then have second thoughts.
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.
Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.Seek good and not evil, so that you may live. Then the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you as you claim he is.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. You have heard that it was said of old: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that anyone who looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.
For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.Amen, amen, I say to you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do, and indeed will do even greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.“All things are lawful,” you may say—but not all things are beneficial. All things may be lawful—but not all things are constructive.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.Whenever you fast, do not assume a gloomy expression like the hypocrites who contort their faces so that others may realize that they are fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied.
