So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” | So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” |
When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. | But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” | O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” |
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” | He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” |
No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one. | Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. |
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. | But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. |
Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. | Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. |
Come to a sober and right mind, and sin no more; for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. | Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. |
Cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ | And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ |

What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? |
And you will say in that day: Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted. | And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted.” |

Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. | For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. |
So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. | So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. |
Take words with you and return to the Lord; say to him, “Take away all guilt; accept that which is good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips.” | Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.” |
You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” | He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” |

Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”? or “Your work has no handles”? | Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’? |
