Speaking (2/4)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.Plans miscarry when counsel is lacking, but they succeed when there are many counselors.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.Pleasing words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and affording health to the body.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. If in speaking I use human tongues and angelic as well, but do not have love, I am nothing more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.So shall my word be that issues forth from my mouth. It will not return to me unfulfilled, but it will accomplish my purpose and achieve what I sent it forth to do.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only delights in expressing his own opinions.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. With his mouth the godless man seeks to ruin his neighbor, but knowledge enables the righteous to be delivered.
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud cast a shadow over them. Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. The lips of a fool cause strife, and his mouth provokes a flogging.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.Diligent labor always yields profit, but idle conversation only leads to poverty.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.Anxiety in the human heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. The lips of the righteous utter words of kindness, but the mouth of the wicked knows only how to pervert.
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. When they arrest you and bring you to trial, do not be concerned beforehand about what you are to say. Simply say whatever is given to you when that time comes, for it will not be you who speak but the Holy Spirit.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. It is honorable to avoid strife, but every fool is quarrelsome.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.Turn away from the mouth that deceives and keep your distance from lips that mislead.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.A word is not even on my tongue and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it.
He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.Lying lips conceal hatred, and anyone who slanders another is a fool.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.For: “If anyone wishes to love life and to experience good days, he must restrain his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.”
Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.Fine words are not becoming to a fool, and much less are false words to a noble.

The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The tongue of the just man is like pure silver; the heart of the wicked is without worth.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.Next verse! With image
