- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
- But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
- Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise:
and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise. - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all
such as are appointed to destruction. - A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! - A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger. - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
- The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
- Let my mouth be filled with thy praise
and with thy honour all the day. - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
- Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.Next verse! With image
