Bible Verses about 'Speaking'
- Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking deceit. - But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

but one who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a confidence. - From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so.
- My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. - If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one.
- Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops.
- Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Without counsel, plans go wrong,
but with many advisers they succeed. - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.
- When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples. - If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. - Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,

but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging. - Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty. - If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.
- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly.
- While I kept silence, my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - Let your word be ‘Yes, Yes’ or ‘No, No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one.
- Even before a word is on my tongue,
O Lord, you know it completely. - It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel.
