- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit. - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

- Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
- Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

but with many advisers they succeed. - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples! - If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,

be acceptable in your sight,

but mere talk tends only to poverty. - If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
- Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
