- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit. - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.

and with your glory all the day. - Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
- If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
- Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Without counsel plans fail,
but with many advisers they succeed. - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples! - So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing his opinion. - Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,

but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk tends only to poverty. - Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. - If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
- Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you.
