Bible Verses about 'Speaking'
- Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking lies. - But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.

- While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

How good is a word at the right time! - A gentle answer turns away wrath,

with your honor all day long. - If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.
- Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
- That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Where there is no counsel, plans fail;
but in a multitude of counselors they are established. - In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.
- For,
“He who would love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name!
Make his doings known among the peoples. - If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- So is my word that goes out of my mouth:
it will not return to me void,
but it will accomplish that which I please,
and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. - A fool has no delight in understanding,
but only in revealing his own opinion. - Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. - A fool’s lips come into strife,
and his mouth invites beatings. - Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - In all hard work there is profit,
but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. - If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
- Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. - Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
- But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
- Put away from yourself a perverse mouth.
Put corrupt lips far from you.
