And your lips from speaking deceit. - But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
- He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. - Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

But perverseness in it breaks the spirit. - For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

- Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die. - A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! - A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. - My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
