- Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
- That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
- But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Without counsel, plans go awry,
But in the multitude of counselors they are established. - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. - Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples! - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. - A fool has no delight in understanding,
But in expressing his own heart. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. - Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue. - A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. - The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. - In all labor there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty. - Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.
- And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. - When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long. - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
- For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. - Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
