| For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. | For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope. |
| A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. | A man may plan his own course, but the Lord makes his steps secure. |

| Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. | Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it. |
| So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. | Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. |

| This also cometh forth from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working. | All this knowledge comes from the Lord of hosts whose counsel is wonderful and whose wisdom is great. |

| Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright. |
| Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. | Indeed, the Lord God does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets. |
