Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking lies.

Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.Not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit.
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.
When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise.In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.
You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak, For the rights of all the unfortunate.Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!

And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.

Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
