Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, that is, Christ.But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise.In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak, For the rights of all the unfortunate.Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him.The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
One who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, But one who is trustworthy conceals a matter.A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way.Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
