- Like a city that is broken into and without walls
So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. - For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
- Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
- One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
And one who rules his spirit, than one who captures a city. - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
- You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit. - No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
- So then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.
- A fool’s anger is known at once,
But a prudent person conceals dishonor. - A fool always loses his temper,
But a wise person holds it back. - For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.
- But I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
- And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
- Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
- Do not turn to the right or to the left;
Turn your foot from evil. - Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes;
How then could I look at a virgin? - Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”Next verse!With image
