Steadfast (2/2)

  • Have mercy on me, O God,
    according to your steadfast love;
    according to your abundant mercy
    blot out my transgressions.
    Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
    and cleanse me from my sin.
  • Keep straight the path of your feet,
    and all your ways will be sure.
  • But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
    on those who fear him,
    and his righteousness to children's children,
    to those who keep his covenant
    and remember to do his commandments.
  • For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
  • For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
  • And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.
  • What is desirable in a person is loyalty,
    and it is better to be poor than a liar.
  • Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
  • Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
  • Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
    and passing over the transgression
    of the remnant of your possession?
    He does not retain his anger forever,
    because he delights in showing clemency.
  • Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
    bind them around your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
    So you will find favor and good repute
    in the sight of God and of people.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.Next verse!With image
