He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend.The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Honor widows who are really widows.Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.
“Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished.The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.
But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.
So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
