| For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation. | For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. |
| Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |

| Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
| One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city. | He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. |
| A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. | A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. |
| I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. | Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. |
| A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own opinion. | A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. |
| Yahweh redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned. | The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. |
| I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. |
| When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken. | When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. |
| Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. | Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. |
| You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God; for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name. | Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. |
| He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. | He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. |
| For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I will help you.’ | For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. |
| Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. | The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. |
| Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky. | Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. |
| Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. |
| My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. | But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
| When you vow a vow to God, don’t defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. | When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. |
| Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous. | A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. |
| He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man. | He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. |
| Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness. | Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. |
