| Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. | The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions. |

| The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot. | We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. |
| And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good. |
| In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. | Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. |
