What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? | What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? |
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. | And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. |

For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. | There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. |
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? | Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? |
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. | I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. |
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. | This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. |
Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. | Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. |
Judge not, that you be not judged. | Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged. |
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. | And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us. |
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. | However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. |
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth. | But I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. |
You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess. | Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance. |
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. | I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. |
Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. | Now in regard to the eating of meat sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are nothing in the world and that there is only one God. |
For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. | For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. |
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does he prunes to make it bear even more. |
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. | For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance. |
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! | Let everything that breathes offer praise to the Lord. Alleluia. |
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. | If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. |
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. |
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. |
Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever! | Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. Then things would go well with them and their children forever. |
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. | And every tongue should proclaim to the glory of God the Father: Jesus Christ is Lord. |
